In our Little Tigers classes (ages 4 thru 8), we emphasize the things that matter--focus, self-confidence, and discipline. Our curriculum educates the student on the basics of Karate, such as: blocking, a good base, and some striking. Two major focuses in our Little Tigers classes are Stranger Awareness and Bully Prevention. We teach our students the importance of establishing boundaries, how to listen to their gut instinct, and using their most important weapon--their voice.
At TKS, we like to have fun. We play many different games which are awarded to the students if they show good focus and attention during class. These games also reinforce important skills like awareness, teamwork, good timing, agility, strength, and following rules.
Little Tiger promotions are based on attendance at The Karate School. Although we do have the students perform in front of their class from time to time to learn confidence and how to work through being nervous, Little Tigers do not test for their rank. Instead, they are rewarded for commitment to good character, and demonstrating their focus and self-confidence.
